    CEC, EC Changthang and DC Leh visit Tangtse & Chushul constituencies Assesses public grievances & review developmental works

    Leh, Nov 11: The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, Executive Councillor for RDD/ASH, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, and the Deputy Commissioner Leh, Shrikant Suse, visited the villages of Tangtse and Chushul constituency in the Changthang region on the 09th and 10th November 2021 to assess and review public grievances and their demands.
    CEC, EC RDD and DC Leh visited Shayok, Durbuk (Laga, Nimgo, Punpun), Tangtse, Mukleb, Lukung, Yurgo, Phobrang, Spangmik, Maan, Merak, Khaktet, and Chushul villages on the first day followed by Go Green plantation site at Chushul, Villages of Barma, Kherapulu, Sato, Chibra, Yerath, Chilam, Pholongley, Shachukhul and Tharuk on the second day. The villagers of Changthang region accorded a warm welcome to all the officials during their visit.
    Councillor Chushul Constituency, Konchok Stanzin, Nominated Councillor, Ven Konchok Tsepel, BDC Chairperson Durbuk, Konchok Phunchok, CMO Leh, ACD Leh, SE PWD Leh, Project Director LREDA, Tehsildar Durbuk, BDO Durbuk, BMO Durbuk, Executive Engineers of PHE and R&B Leh, village representatives led by Sarpanches, Panches and Nambardars of the villages of Tangste and Chushul Constituency accompanied CEC, EC RDD and DC Leh during the tour.
    The officials inaugurated Women Craft-Centre at Nimgo village, Central Heating system and an Aluminium Glass room at PHC Tangtse, Solar Battery Bank replacements at (Yurgo, Lukung, Spangmik, Chushul and Sato villages), Waste Segregation Centre of Project Tsangda at Lukung Pangong, a Rest House at Yerath village and a Community hall at Pholongley village. EC Tashi Yakzee who’s also the Councillor of Tangtse Constituency, handed over Public Address (PA) System with Amplifiers under his CCDF to the villagers of Mukleb and Shachukul villages during the tour.
    During their visit to the said villages, the major issues highlighted by the villagers included completion of road connectivity with blacktopping, telecommunication connectivity with high-speed internet, redressal of drinking water issues, land allotment issues, Irrigation Canal issues, the upgradation of the existing govt schools and health centres with adequate staff, upgradation of VSATs, the requirement of electricity transmission lines, renovations of community halls, reparation of motorable bridges, developmental requirements at monasteries and strengthening of village-level self-help and women alliance groups.
    CEC, EC RDD and DC Leh evaluated all the issues with an on-ground visit to the sites. CEC Gyalson directed concerned Executive Engineers of various departments to timely execute all the planned developmental works in the entire belt of Tangtse and Chushul Constituencies keeping in view the short working season in the region. He also directed ACD Leh and BDO Durbuk to note and address infrastructural issues and other developmental works in all the villages. He also assured the villagers to complete all the developmental work affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic since last year in a phased manner.
    CEC Gyalson informed the villagers about sanctioning and installation of mobile towers for a few villages at the earliest. He also assured to upgrade the existing VSATs in all the villages to provide better internet connectivity, especially for school-going students to attend online classes.
    Reacting to drinking water issues, CEC Gyalson informed the villagers that every household would get a water connection under the nationwide Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). He assured the villagers to complete the ongoing work within the specified timeline. CEC along with DC Leh also took stock of the current status of works under JJM in all the villages. They directed concerned Executive Engineers to assess water quality and expedite the pending works under JJM accordingly.
    Post-completion of the two-day official tour to the Tangtse and Chushul constituencies, CEC Tashi Gyalson along with EC Tashi Yakzee and DC Shrikant Suse termed the tour successful in evaluating on-ground public issues with the concerned departmental officers.
    DC Leh in his address stated that this is his 5th joint tour with the Hon’ble CEC and EC Changthang to the region and he assured the people that LAHDC and the District Administration, Leh would definitely revisit and address all the issues in consultation with the residents in developing Changthang region by providing sustainable solutions to all the main issues in the region.
