BDO Thiksay conducts Cleanliness drive in Thiksay block

Leh, March 27: A cleanliness drive under the Swacch Bharat Mission (Gramin) themed ‘Ek Kadam Swacchta ki Aur, A Cleanliness drive towards Clean India and Green India’ was conducted by Rural Development Department (RDD), Block Development Office, Thiksay. The cleanliness drive was headed by the Block Development Officer (BDO), Thiksay, Namgyal Angmo in the different halqa panchayats of the Thiksay block.
The cleanliness drive included volunteers from ITBP, headed by Commandant,37 Battalion, ITBP, Piyush Pushkar and Deputy Commandant, 37 Battalion ITBP, Avinash Kumar. BDO was accompanied by Chairperson, BDC, Thiksay Block, Tsewang Paldan, Sarpanches, Panch members of respective Halqa Panchayats, Nambardars and other officials as well.
The villagers of the Thiksay block along with the volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Leh and students with their teachers from various schools of Thiksay block enthusiastically participated in the cleanliness drive.
The cleanliness drive was successfully conducted in a phased manner in different halqa panchayats of the Thiksey block. Masks and sanitisers along with refreshments were also distributed to the participants of today’s cleanliness drive programme
