    KARGIL, MARCH 12, 2022: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan today presided as chief guest at the final round of Archery Championship at Silmo.
    Batalik A team won the Championship against Gargardoo A with 28 and 26 points respectively. While Sarchay team remained third with 26 points and Batalik B stands fourth with 21 points.
    In the two-day championship, 08 teams from different villages of Batalik sector participated.
    Speaking on the occasion, CEC Khan instructed to register clubs for different sports activities and assured to provide assistance for procurement of equipment.
    The CEC encouraged reviving traditional Archery while excelling on modern equipment also which is necessary to compete in recognized national and international championships. He further urged the youth to participate in both state and national level championships.
    Khan further said that a multipurpose playground is in planning and urged the public to provide appropriate land for the same.
    He congratulated the villagers in the development of a new Archery ground at a cost of Rs 20 lakhs at Silmo. The Archery championship was also conducted at the same ground.
    The CEC was accompanied by District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, BDO Sout, Mukhtar Ali and other concerned officers.
