    KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 16, 2021: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in collaboration with Government Degree College Kargil and School Education Department organized an awareness workshop on Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) for students at Auditorium Kargil here today.
    Consultant PMSSS Professor Ajeet Angral, In charge Chief Education Officer Kargil Haji Muhammad Amin, District Nodal Officer PMSSS Muhammad Yaseen, Principals of various higher secondary schools, Nodal Officers of various schools and around 300 students were present during the awareness program.
    Professor Ajeet Angral Consultant PMSSS shared his valuable information with participating students and advised the aspirants to select the courses as per their aptitude and capabilities. He said that the scholarship scheme can bring a paradigm shift in the education system and economy of the district.
    Professor Angral assured every possible support to the students of Kargil in realizing their career goals through the scheme and explained how students can register online and get their documents verified, and what precautionary measures have to be taken during registration, verification and counseling.
    Later, a question and answer session was conducted in which various queries of the students were responded by the consultant.
    Pertinently, under PMSSS students of the states are offered scholarships for pursuing undergraduate courses in Medical, Engineering and General Streams outside the state for which amount of scholarship is paid by the AICTE.
    Students who are the domicile residents of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh who have passed 10+2 examination from J&K Board or CBSE located in J&K and willing to study outside the state, having the family income of Rs 8 lakh or below per annum are eligible to avail benefit under the scheme.
    On the occasion, In charge Chief Education Officer Muhammad Amin and Principal Government Secondary School Trespone Muhammad Hadi gave the welcome speech and vote of thanks respectively
