Agri Dept Leh organises farmer exposure tour-cum-training prog

Leh, April 19: The Department of Agriculture, Leh organised a two-day farmer exposure tour- cum-training programme for 30 farmers from Tia village on April 18-19.
The exposure tour was flagged-off by the Executive Councillor, Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel from the Council Secretariat to research stations of SKUAST HMMARI, KVK Stakna and DIHAR Leh. The tour was headed by District Agriculture Officer Leh, Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer (SDAO), Leh and the Youth President of Tia village.
Training on organic farming, mulching technology, pest and disease control measures, vermicompost production and mushroom production were imparted to the participants.
District Agriculture Officer, Leh, Tashi Dolma; SDAO, Leh, Shakeel-ur-Rehman; Agrostologist Ibrahim, Research Assistant, Manzoor Ahmad; Agricultural Assistant Inputs, Mohd Ramzan and Agriculture Extension Officer, Khaltse, Kunzang Dolma were the resource persons.
