    Leh, July 28: Secretary, Agriculture & Horticulture, Ravinder Kumar, today chaired a meeting of the Agriculture & Horticulture Departments to review the progress of the status of the ongoing/new work; SDP/ State/ Changthang Development package (physical & financial progress); status of priority works, expenditure by the end of the first quarter and anticipated expenses by the second quarter achieved by the Agriculture & Horticulture Departments.
    Chief Agriculture Officer, Leh & Kargil; Chief Horticulture Officer, Leh & Kargil apprised Secretary Ravinder of the construction of greenhouses division-wise, distribution of improved agriculture tools, machinery and equipment power tiller, diesel hall, grass and brush cutter, chainsaw; and 50 % subsidy on agriculture/horticulture, installation of the hi-tech polycarbonate greenhouse at SM Farm Stara Zanskar/tech intervention to mitigate the nutritional imbalance of the tribal people of Zanskar, etc.
    Secretary Ravinder directed the officers of the Agriculture & Horticulture Department to draft a beneficiary eligibility & selection criterion to give more preference to the deserving candidate.
    Secretary Ravinder stressed the need for monitoring the issue of codling moths and creating awareness among people through the campaign on mission mode to be launched soon, advertisement, SOP awareness, videography; creating a model video to raise awareness regarding various farmer and entrepreneurs-oriented schemes in UT Ladakh.
    He directed the officers of Agriculture & Horticulture to prioritise and complete the procurement and billing before 15 September.
