    2-day workshop on capacity building in Leh on Sep 9 & 10

    Leh, Sept. 08: National Centre for Good Governance, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, Government of India, will organise a two-day workshop for officials from the Union Territory of Ladakh in collaboration with Govt. of Ladakh on September 9 and 10 in Leh. 200 officials are taking part in the workshop.
    Minister of State for PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy & Space, Dr Jitendra Singh and Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, RK Mathur, would inaugurate the 2-day event. Secretary, DAR&PG, Sanjay Singh; Additional Secretary, DAR&PG, V. Srinivas; Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson; Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan, would also address during the inaugural session. Commissioner/Secretary, Ladakh, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, would give the vote of thanks.
    The workshop would encompass sessions on addressing Governance Challenges in Ladakh, J&K Reorganisation Act, GFR 2017 and GeM, Tendering and PFMS, CSMOP 2019, e-Office and success stories in UT Administration. The workshop plans to provide a platform for information exchange and knowledge dissemination.
    Distinguished speakers from the Government of India and UTS would address Governance Challenges in Ladakh, J&K Reorganisation Act and GFR 2017 and GeM, Tendering and PFMS to Ladakh officials on the first day.
    In the concluding session on Day 2, distinguished speakers from the Government of India and UTS would speak on CSMOP 2019, e-Office, and success stories in UT Administration. Sanjay Singh, Secretary, DAR&PG, would address the valedictory session.
    The objective of the programme is to create a civil service that is completely familiar with the union laws on procurement and financial management, Central Secretariat Manual of Office Procedure (CSMOP), e-Office and usher in digital procurement practices through widespread adoption of GeM and digital governance. This would be done keeping the Government’s mandate of transparency and ease of business in mind.
    The capacity-building workshop aims to benefit and upgrade the administrative and related skills of the officials of UT Ladakh to enhance the exposure and awareness in diverse fields for improving the delivery mechanism and realisation of the goals of good governance.
